SUMMARY OF THE SAIGHTON VILLAGE GET TOGETHER ON 5th JULY 2009.

Allowing for people who where on holiday or busy that day, in the region of 60-70 adults and children attended or signed to support the Saighton Village/Village Hall initiatives!

    CONCLUSIONS:

These are in no particular order, and do NOT include those absent on the day; numbers in most are likely to rise.

  1. SUMMER SOLSTICE 2010: Evening BBQ/Party 51 Supporters

  1. MAY DAY 2010: Celebrating the coming of spring/Green man event 15 supporters

  1. ST.GEORGES DAY EVENT 2010: We are English! 41 supporters

  1. ROUNDERS EVENT: 2009 35 supports.

  1. PUMPKIN CARVING: 30/10/2009: 20 children.

  1. HALLOWWEEN: ALLHALLOWS trick or treat /soul caking: 11 supporters, but possible confusion as events obviously overlap. We are thinking of ending the event at the village hall, with mulled wine and ghost stories – do you have a tale?

  1. HALLOWEEN houses willing to be supportive of being “called upon” 14 Houses supportive.

  1. HOG ROAST: The old “pig-in-a-bun” gets a massive 55 supporters.(Apple sauce??) This could be multi use, perhaps more then one occassion? Suggested date end of August this year, with general BBQ??

  1. APPLE DAY: October 2009: 30 supporters with 7 properties offering their apples – more expected.

  1. FLOWER ARRANGING 3 – 8 supporters (more expected)

  1. GUY FAWKES EVENT: 25 + Supporters. Bring some fireworks. Start saving your old wood.

  • WASSAILING – CHRISTMAS TRADTION OF CAROLS, MEETING NEIGHBOURS. MORE MULLED WINE, FESTIVE FOOD – COULD THE HOG RETURN???

  • NEW KITCHEN (NUMEROUS SUPPORTERS)
  • POOL/SNOOKER TABLE
  • PLAY AREA FOR CHILDREN (IN/OUT)
  • LANDSCAPING FOR CAR PARK.GREEN AREA
  • COMFY ARM CHAIRS/COFFEE TABLE AREA FOR ADULTS TO MEET AND RELAX
  • BIKE PARK

SUPPORT OF DESIGNATED COMMUNITY GREEN AREA:

28+ SUPPORTERS. ( THE SHEET FOR THIS WAS POORLY PLACED DURING THE EVENT, SO WE FEEL THIS WOULD HAVE CONSIDERABLY MORE SUPPORT.)
